Having a baby is one of the biggest moments in life, and Mercy Birthplace Oklahoma City is all about making it as comfortable, safe, and special as possible. The Love Family Women’s Center is designed with moms and families in mind, offering a warm, inviting space where you can feel completely supported before, during, and after birth.
Mercy has really stepped up when it comes to space! The labor and delivery rooms are nearly twice the size of the old ones, giving you plenty of room to move around, relax, and welcome your little one. Big windows let in tons of natural light, and if you’re looking for natural pain relief, there are laboring tubs and jetted showers. Up to four visitors can be with you during labor and delivery (just the same four people the whole time for safety reasons).
Once your baby arrives, you’ll settle into one of the 47 postpartum rooms, where your baby can stay with you 24/7. Need a little extra rest? The secure nursery is always an option. And if you have a high-risk pregnancy and need extra monitoring, there are dedicated antepartum rooms to keep you and baby safe.
If a C-section is part of your birth plan (or becomes necessary), Mercy has three big surgical suites just for that. There are also connected prep and recovery rooms, and one support person can stay with you the whole time. As long as everything is going smoothly, your baby can stay with you in recovery. Plus, since these suites are connected to the hospital’s main surgery center, there’s quick access to extra care if needed.
If your baby needs a little extra medical attention, Mercy’s Level III NICU is right there, providing top-notch care for premature and critically ill newborns.
Breastfeeding support is also a big deal here. Lactation consultants are available 24/7 to help, whether you need assistance in the hospital or even after you go home. And before you leave, your baby will have a full pediatric exam. Mercy recommends picking a pediatrician by your 30th week of pregnancy, and if you need help finding one, their care team can connect you with a prenatal nurse navigator.
Having a baby is exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. That’s why Mercy offers many classes to help you feel ready and confident.
Mercy Birthplace Oklahoma City isn’t just about labor and delivery—it’s designed to support women at every stage of life.
