As an Oklahoma City newborn photographer, I’ve had the privilege of documenting so many beautiful beginnings. Over the years, I’ve noticed that the birth experience itself can shape everything that follows. That’s why I’m always grateful when I meet families who’ve had the kind of gentle, empowered support offered by Labor of Love Midwifery. Whether you’re preparing for your first baby or looking for a more connected experience this time around, this practice offers something truly special: care that centers you.
Based In Edmund But Serves All Of Oklahoma
Labor Of Love MIdwifery serves families across Oklahoma looking for a more personal and holistic home birth experience. Founder and Certified Professional Midwife Charlee Lacy comes with over 20 years of experience supporting mothers through childbirth. This experience comes alongside the birth and raising of her own four children. Two of her births took place in hospitals. Then, she experienced her friend’s delivery with midwives, which changed everything for her. So, the other two children were home births with midwife support.
She has built her reputation by staying deeply rooted in the belief that birth is a love-filled miracle that should be performed in a safe and nurturing environment. That is why she loves guiding home and water births. Above all, she believes that all mothers deserve to feel safe, supported, valued, and respected.
Labor of Love Midwifery provides full-spectrum care for low-risk pregnancies, including prenatal visits, labor and delivery support, newborn screenings, and postpartum follow-up. Charlee also offers well-woman visits and preconception counseling for families who are planning ahead. Every appointment is intentionally unhurried, giving you time to ask questions, talk through your hopes, and feel truly seen.
Charlee focuses purely on home and water births as her specialty. She believes that the familiar space, colors, and sounds bring an added feeling of safety and comfort for moms and babies. When it comes to water births, the warm water combined with how easy it is to adjust makes things so much easier for mom. She has found that many women experience much less discomfort during a water birth. All this stems from Charlee’s desire to help moms embrace birth and experience the full joy of the experience.
What really stands out is how collaborative the Labor Of Love Midwifery process feels. Instead of being told what to do, you’re invited to participate fully in your care. You’ll talk about everything from nutrition and baby’s position to birth planning and postpartum recovery. All of this is done with a supportive expert by your side to offer you choices tailored to your experience. That kind of relationship creates confidence that lasts long after the baby arrives.
If you’re exploring natural birth options in Oklahoma, Labor of Love Midwifery is a beautiful place to start. Their thoughtful, relationship-based approach creates space for you to feel safe, confident, and empowered. This is especially important during one of the most important times of your life.
And when you’re ready to capture those first quiet moments with your baby, when the long wait is finally over, and your arms are full, I’d love to help preserve that memory. As an Oklahoma City maternity photographer, I’m here to celebrate your story from bump to baby.
